What Types of Workout Clothes Should You Wear

Some people have the wrong notion that workout clothes have to be primarily presentable and attractive instead of being fit. But the primary consideration when buying workout clothes is the comfort that it gives you while you are working out. What you are wearing for your workout will determine how much comfort you have when working out and it will greatly affect how you do your workout as well.

There are different kinds of workouts that will require different types of workout clothes. What you should look at when choosing workout clothes is the type of fabric, the comfort it gives and its fit.

Below are some things to consider when choosing workout clothes especially if you are not able to decide what is the perfect apparel for your workout.

if you don’t want sweat to stick to your clothes, then choose a fabric that provides wicking. This is a synthetic fiber that wicks away the sweat from your body. With this fabric, you will feel light and easy and allows the air to cross through.

Cotton shirts is good for people who don’t sweat much and who just does light workouts. Cotton is a soft fabric which you can use if you are doing stretching and walking exercises. Never use cotton fabric for heavy workouts because it absorbs sweat and your shirt will soon be heavy with sweat and will cling to your body. A heavy, sweaty, clinging shirt will give you much distraction.

Your clothes should not get in the way of your workout activity. If you like to jog, ride a bicycle, run, or other leg exercises, wear shorts of Capri pants that are not loose or baggy.

For stretching exercises, yoga, weight lifting and exercises that don’t use rapid movements, the best apparel to wear Is a pair of yoga pants which give you better elasticity.

Your workout tops should be sleeveless shirt or t-shirts. Make sure it is not too loose but it supports your body. Sleeveless shirts can help you minimize sweating. A sleeveless top can still be worn during winter since most gyms are centrally heated.

Since the temperature changes from season to season, your workout clothes should also change. Sleeveless shirts and shorts or Capri pants are good for summer workouts while sweatshirts or t-shirts with a jacket over it is ideal for winter. During winter your body temperature goes up while you are exercising, so you don’t need to wear very warm clothes.

Working out without the proper shoes is difficult too. If you want to be able to do a proper workout, make sure you feet are comfortable also. Choose workout shoes that fit your foot and ankle perfectly but is not too tight. If your shoes has thin soles, you have the ideal shoes since they don’t let the shoe get heavy due to sweat.
